An Acton-based museum is holding an engineering day dedicated to inspiring young minds.
The Key Stage Inspire Engineering day is aimed at families with children between 11 and 14 years of age. A range of enquiry-based activities hosted by skilled facilitators will take place at the event, designed to encourage an interest in engineering. Practicing professional engineers will also be present, telling tales of their experiences and explaining inventions and devices employed in their work.
Attendees will be invited to explore multiple engineering wonders powered by energy and motion and will have the opportunity to participate in a practical activity entitled the ‘Braking Eggsperiment’. Galleries and museums hosting family-orientated exhibitions can sometimes benefit from brochure printing services, designing informative Booklets to hand out to those attending.
The single-day event has been organised by HEUK Events, an organisation specialising in educational events, courses and classes. The session dedicated to engineering has a CREST accreditation from the British Science Association, and all those attending the event will get to receive an official CREST Discovery Award.
The KS3 Inspire Engineering Day will take place at the London Transport Museum Depot at 2 Museum Way in Acton town on November 3. The event will run from 10am until 2.45pm and tickets for the event are priced at £15.24 for adults and £10.61 for children.
