The highly respected former Radio 1, DJ Annie Mac, is bringing her own club gig 'Before Midnight' to Acton this year.
This Dublin-born presenter, Annie MacManus has a musical background, her Brother Davy is the frontman of the indie group The Crimea. She was introduced to techno clubbing, whilst studying English at Belfast's Queen's University.
On completion of her education, Annie relocated to London, worked for SBN, a radio station for students, and had a DJ residency at Camden's 'The Underworld'. The BBC then offered her a post as a broadcast assistant. Finally, getting her own programme In July 2004.
As the host of BBC Radio 1's 'Future Sounds' together with 'Dance Party' the DJ celebrated both chart music and underground music, not to mention, highlighting the work of female artists.
One year after joining Radio 1, she initiated her 'Annie Mac Presents'; shows. It was to become a top Club brand, acting as a platform for bass-driven, house, electro and live dance acts. She left the BBC in 2021 to subsequently launch her own club night.
