Acton celebrated by sustainable brand

All-natural skincare and fragrance maker Haeckels has paid tribute to the London district of Acton in the name of its new product.

Dubbed “Acton's Lock Number 7", the latest product launched by the UK-based firm is a scented candle and is named after Acton, to make the opening of its East London store last year. Previous scented candles created by Haeckels have been named after places close to the company’s first retail store in Margate. Boutique stores can sometimes include company Business Cards with purchases to encourage repeat custom.

The new candle blends an extensive range of scents including Earth Marine that has notes of amber and vetiver on its base layer, with moss and leaves within its centre. Every one of the candles is also dipped by hand in a bespoke tincture that alludes to the East London locale.

Dom Bridges, the label’s founder, commented on the launch:

“The project is significant for so many reasons and a genuine collaboration — it’s our first aromatic venture out of Margate, and we’re donating 40% of proceeds to the Music Venue Trust to help rebuild nightlife after lockdown.”

To accompany its product launch, the sustainable brand has partnered with Welsh electronic artist Kelly Lee Owens to produce a unique sensory experience encompassing specially designed soundscapes accessible after scanning a dedicated QR code.
