York Region craft show marks anniversary

The popular Heintzman House Artisan Craft Show will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this November, marking a half-century of bringing together local artisans from across York Region and beyond.

The market is hosted at Markham’s Heintzman House, a historic 19th-century heritage property that regularly hosts weddings as well as an annual art show. The market includes 35 vendors, and aims to attract customers from Toronto, nearby York Region areas such as Vaughan or Richmond Hill, and further afield. Popular items include jewellery, handknit clothing, Stationery and items for children and babies. With the holiday season ahead, many guests will be looking to pick up unique gifts for friends and loved ones.

Confirmed vendors for the 2022 edition include Agnes Art Creation, Bad Excuse Designs, Lolili Wearable Art and The Soap Nook by Filice Boutique. There will also be two Sabina Margitta Memorial tables, given to emerging artist Fuwa Days and non-profit charity Roses for Sanfilippo. As this is the 50th anniversary edition, there will also be live music performances throughout the two-day event and a visit from Markham’s official Town Cryer. Seasonal markets such as this, typically promoted through tools like flyer printing and social media, provide a major opportunity to local small businesses and artisans.

The 50th annual Heintzman House Artisan Craft Show will take place on November 12 and 13.
