Volunteers give Vaughan park TLC

A Vaughan green space is about to get some TLC, and as many hands make light work, the organizers are hoping that there will be lots of community interest in the project.

North Maple Regional Park will be the location for a community stewardship activity, and it will run for two hours. The Park is located at 11085 Keele Street, and it will be a way to give back while celebrating Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests (LEAF’s) 30th anniversary.

The participants will be working at the venue’s naturalization site, and one of the tasks undertaken will be the removal of invasive species while giving native trees and shrubs some TLC. They will install mulch and take on any other tasks that need to be done, and everyone is reminded to wear closed-toed shoes and long pants. Gardening gloves will also be helpful, and the function is scheduled to take place rain or shine. Everyone interested will need to sign up ahead of time.

Large or small, hands-on environmental activities can all make a big impact. A printing services company can craft Promotional Products to hand out the volunteers as well as teen shirts, hats and other branded clothing for the activity facilitator to wear so they will be easy to spot.

North Maple Park will be getting a good clean thanks to this project scheduled for June 6th. It will begin at 10:00 am.
