Mosaic lamp-making brings Turkish culture to Vaughan

A craft workshop in Vaughan will introduce participants to the traditional art of Turkish mosaic lamp-making.

The session invites attendees to assemble their own decorative lamp using patterns made from glass tiles and beads. The workshop is designed for beginners, offering a structured introduction to the craft without requiring prior artistic experience. According to the organiser, instructors will demonstrate each step of the process and guide participants as they create their designs.

Mosaic Art studio will provide the materials necessary, such as lamp bases, mosaics, adhesives, and glass embellishments on site. Once the decorative surface is complete, participants will finish the lamp and take it home, turning the class into both a learning opportunity and a hands-on creative activity with a tangible result.

The workshop blends cultural craft traditions with a social atmosphere, giving attendees a chance to explore detailed pattern-making at their own pace. The workshop will occur in a relaxed environment, encouraging people to focus on the creative aspects of arranging patterns by hand.
