Needle felting is a crafting technique that utilizes unspun wool and a special barbed needle, and a Vaughan workshop will introduce the activity to a new crop of felters.
The attendees in the session will each be making their own felted ornament of a mouse peeking out of a pumpkin. Cathy Disbrow, who is a local fibre artist, will serve as its facilitator, and full instructions will be provided.
The class will be working with wool that has been sheared from the venue’s own flock of sheep, and it will be suitable for beginners. Disbrow will walk attendees through the process of building their own piece, and they will be able to take them home with them after the workshop has drawn to a close.
The ticket price of $70.00 covers all materials, including the felting needles. Admission to The Village at Black Creek museum is also included, and everyone can visit the sheep before the activity begins.
A crafting class offers the chance to learn a new technique and can range from ones geared towards newbies to those intended for the more experienced learner. Copies of handouts and other materials for a session can be ordered from local Stationery printers.
