Vaughan celebrates birds spring return

The spring migration means that millions of birds are on the move back to their northern homes, and a Vaughn event will welcome the return of these feathered friends in high style.

The Vaughan World Migratory Bird Day Event will be celebrating the return of the birds at Maple Nature Reserve, and it will mark the arrival of World Migratory Bird Day. It will run for two hours, and a trail walk will provide an in-person chance to hopefully spot some of the avian set.

While the walkers keep their eyes and ears peeled for the sights and sound of birds, the facilitator will talk about the importance of ensuring those migrating have safe spaces to eat and rest. They will discuss the threats they face and how to help, and tips for birding will be shared as well. The activity will be held rain or shine, and everyone should dress for the weather.

To help participants in the walk get their feet wet when it comes to birding, they will each receive a clipboard and pencils as well as a bird identification checklist and other materials. A brochure printing company can craft a variety of customized learning materials for an activity.

Vaughn will be celebrating its feathered friends with this special event, which will take place on May 10th. The walk will depart from 10401 Dufferin Street.
