Vaughan tree lighting ceremony back for another year

To mark the start of another winter holiday season, Vaughan will once again be hosting a tree lighting ceremony, and everyone is invited to come and share in the spirit of the occasion

The city’s mayor and councilors will be on hand for the event, which will feature an assortment of treats to help keep the crowd warm, as well as festive music, colorful lights, and more. Santa will be paying a visit, and the public is invited to bring along their cameras and have their photos taken with him as a memento of the evening.

In addition to all of the festivities, as a part of its City of Vaughan Toy Drive, city representatives will also be accepting the donation of unwrapped new toys, suitable for babies up to age 18. These will be distributed to children in need in the community through the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish program. Newsletter printing can be used to produce community information bulletins that contain details about events such as this that can be sent to every household in an area.

The tree lighting ceremony itself will begin in the City Hall courtyard on December 1, with the official welcome scheduled to take place at 7:00 pm. It will run until 8:30, and more information about the event and the toy drive can be found on the City of Vaughan’s website.
