Vaughan run to put Art in Motion

An upcoming charity run in Vaughan will look to combine fine art, natural beauty and supporting the community.

The event challenges participants to run or walk a distance of ten, five or two kilometres. The route will go through Vaughan’s Boyd Conservation Area, timed with the intention of seeing the conservation area when the fall colours are at their peak. The finish line area will incorporate items from the McMichael Art Collection to create a unique running experience.

Funds raised from registration fees will go towards SickKids Hospital’s Department of Rheumatology, in addition to the Dr. Bonnie Cameron Secondary Scholarship. The race was designed to help support children suffering from juvenile arthritis, who the scholarship provides post-secondary funding to. Organizers will be running shuttles to and from the event from Sherbourne and Keele stations in Toronto, new to this year’s event.

Participants will receive a premium race kit with a commemorative tech shirt or hat, a finisher’s medal and a chip timer to measure position. High fundraisers will receive a VIP experience including food and wine, included gallery admissions, and “swag bags” with items from race sponsors. Charitable events like this often use social media and brochure printing to help explain the cause and encourage donations.

The 2025 Art in Motion run will take place at Boyd Conservation Area in Vaughan on the morning of October 19.
