A Vaughan attraction currently operating a Halloween drive-through light show will be making a quick transition into a winter holiday version this November.
The attraction is the first of its kind in the Toronto area, and it spans over a 2.25 kilometre path that contains three glowing light tunnels and numerous large illuminated displays. The Halloween version of the exhibit included over 700,000 LED lights synchronized to music.
When the focus of the display turns to Christmas, images like spider webs, bats and jack-o-lanterns will be replaced by candy canes, a giant moose sculpture and trees festooned with lights of all varieties.
Both the Halloween and Holiday Night of Lights are designed to recreate the experience of walking through a decorated neighbourhood in an organized and socially distant way. Each car Signs up for its own time slot, and the drive is estimated to take half an hour, although visitors are allowed to go at their own pace.
Ongoing restrictions on gatherings have led to creativity in designing new drive-through attractions across North America. These displays are often advertised through tools like flyer printing and social media.
The Holiday Nights of Lights attraction will run nightly between November 20 and January 7, while the Halloween version of the night is ongoing and will run until November 1.
