Shadowsingers, an event celebrating the release of a new expansion for the popular online video game Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, will be taking place at Vaughan’s Waves Gaming this November.
The event is designed to be a gathering of Final Fantasy XIV enthusiasts from across the Toronto area to mark the release of the Endwalker game. The game is a rare multi-player instalment in the long-running Final Fantasy role-playing game series, and it has attracted a large and dedicated player base over the eight years since its release due to its multifaceted story and setting.
Computers with the game installed will be available at the event, allowing players to play the usually remote online game in person with each other. There will also be fan artists selling drawings and other merchandise of characters and events from the game.
Conventions and fan gatherings like this often feature “artists’ alleys” full of fan-made items, as well as rare Promotional Products and other unique merchandise. Shadowsingers will feature a raffle for prizes and other interactive activities. The Waves Gaming space features rows of computers and equipment designed to make it easy to live-stream gaming sessions. The venue bills itself as “Canada’s First ESports Hub”, referring to competitive video games.
