Vaughan gala to support medical research

The Blue Ribbon Gala will be returning to Vaughan this April, raising funds to help support diabetes research and treatment in Canada.

The annual event is hosted by the Arangio family and is designed to raise awareness and build support against the challenges of diabetes. The night features an evening of dancing, music, food and drink, with participants donating money both as part of the entry fee and as part of events like silent auctions. Past editions have included live musicians and DJs, a car show featuring luxury models from brands like Lamborghini and Ferrari and a cocktail hour before dinner starts.

All money raised goes towards Diabetes Canada, a national organization that provides grants and awards to research into diabetes treatments and cures. Past editions of the Gala have raised as much as $60,000. Charitable events like this often use speeches and brochure printing to let donors know where their money will go. The Gala’s promotional material emphasizes the family’s involvement:

“This inspiring initiative was born out of unforeseen circumstances when diabetes unexpectedly touched their lives in a profound way. Determined to make a difference, the Arangio family has transformed their personal connection with diabetes into a beacon of hope and advocacy.”

The 2025 Blue Ribbon Gala will take place at Hazelton Manor in Vaughan on the evening of April 25.
