Vaughan fundraiser to hold 30th edition

The McMichael Canadian Art Collection’s Volunteer Committee will be marking a milestone this year when it holds its 30th anniversary edition of its Autumn Art Sale, its biggest and most prestigious fundraiser.

The sale will feature work by 50 artists, invited and judged by a jury of experts. The pieces on sale will include a variety of artistic styles, from traditional acrylics and oils to sculpture and more. A percentage of all proceeds will go towards the McMichael Volunteer Committee, which works on projects to enhance visitor experience and special education programs at the gallery. The fundraiser has raised over $790,000 over the past three decades, and is looking to have a bumper anniversary edition.

The top artists of previous editions of the Art Sale have been automatically invited back to submit their new work, including Brigitte Granton, Peter Allan Rice, and Doris Pintieri. The sale will run across a weekend, beginning with an opening night reception with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The sale will continue across the weekend, with admission to the display in the picturesque Grand Hall free of charge.

Poster printing can be used to promote sales like this. Promotional material advertises the sale as a chance not just for charity but also art appreciation and investment:

“This is your opportunity to make an investment in a beautiful piece of original Canadian art that will provide a lifetime of enjoyment, all while supporting the home to the art of Canada.”

The 2024 Autumn Art Sale Fundraiser will take place from November 29 to December 1 at the McMichael Collection in Vaughan.
