The festival will feature a free stage performance, headlined by long-running Italian glam rock band I Cugini di Campagna, who will be performing twice during the day. Other performers include DJ Danny D, The Andrea Boccelli Tribute Show, and the Woodbridge School of Dance. Visitors can also participate in hands-on activities like the classic lawn bowling game of bocce, Italian card games like scopa and briscola, or photo booths for social media-friendly snaps.
The festival will also include a business zone with vendors offering gift items as well as food trucks and stalls. The menu will include Funnel Cake Express; Shake and Bake; and Slices to Go. Vendors at cultural festivals like this often offer special products and Business Cards to help create repeat customers. The City will be running a shuttle bus service to transport people to and from the festival, as well as offering free parking near the city. Festa d’Italia will be supported by local volunteers and sponsors. Promotional material presents the events as representing cultural heritage:
“Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the rich traditions of Italy—everyone is welcome!”
The inaugural Festa d’Italia will take place on June 1 at Boyd Conservation Park in Vaughan.
