The gala event begins with a cocktail hour, with an open bar included in the ticket price, before a five-course dinner provided by local chefs. There will also be live music and other entertainment. Attendees can enter raffles and giveaways for prizes donated from local businesses. The event requires a formal dress code, with the theme “champagne & roses” as an inspiration. The classiest gowns and suits will be eligible to win the Best Dressed Contest.
The gala began as a way to spread awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease, with the name reflecting the encouragement of word-of-mouth advertising:
“Tell a friend to tell a friend – help us make this final gala our most impactful yet! Over the years, your unwavering support has helped us create lasting change in our community.”
In addition to word of mouth, charity gala events often use methods like flyer printing and social media to help spread the word. The event is also marketed as “The Final Lap”, reflecting that this has been announced as the last edition of the gala.
The 2025 Friend of a Friend Gala will take place on February 16 at the Universal Event Space in Vaughan.
