A bridal business based in Vaughan has been selected as the filming spot for a new reality television show.
‘Say Yes to the Dress’ is the Canadian version of a popular American TV show that features the trials and tribulations of brides, along with their family and friends, as they choose the gown they will wear for their wedding. According to the show’s producers, nearly every bridal shop in the GTA was visited, and their final selection was Amanda-Lina Sposa Boutique, which is located in the Vaughan neighbourhood of Woodbridge.
The individuals in the show are all real people and not actors, and part of what helped the producers decide to choose this location was the interaction of the 14 staff members of the family-run boutique between themselves and their clients.
While there will be less ‘drama’ on the show than there is in the American version, it is expected that there will still be some, as it can be a very emotional time for both the bride and those who come along to help her make a selection.
The shop’s owner, Sam Pollard, says he is both happy and proud that his establishment is the one that was chosen.
