The Something Strange Sideshow Festival will be returning to the Greater Toronto Area this March with a display of unusual talent acts from around the country.
The Sideshow Festival, last held in fall 2021, focuses on unusual talents and performers of the type that have been traditionally associated with circus sideshows. Performers use names such as Dolly Pockets, Zoltan the Adequate and Pickles La Vey, and feature talents such as sword swallowing, feats of strength and magic tricks. The stage show will be hosted by Mysterion and Lizzdom, with more acts and headliners to be announced. The festival will be looking to draw in the curious and people with alternative tastes from Toronto and nearby areas such as Vaughan.
The festival will also include a marketplace, called the Something Strange Oddities Expo, which is to be held earlier in the day. The expo will feature a variety of strange and rare items, such as Victorian photographs and creepy antiques. Confirmed vendors include Cabinet of Curiosities and The Skull Store. Specialized marketplaces like this can provide a major opportunity for local craftspeople and vendors, who can make lasting connections with customers using Business Cards and commemorative items.
The 2022 edition of the Something Strange Sideshow Festival is set to take place on March 20 at the Revival Bar and Event Venue in Toronto.
