One of the Greater Toronto Area’s biggest food and drink events will switch this year from being a summertime refresher to an October soiree.
The Toronto Wine & Spirit Festival provides visitors an array of alcoholic beverages from around the world, from the eponymous wine and spirits to beer, cider, cocktails and coolers. The event operates under a “pay as you sample” principle, using a voucher system.
The diversity of selections is reflected by the vendor list, which includes businesses like Eldorado Demerera Rum, Chum Churum Soju, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Food will also be provided from stands and trucks like Liko’s Hawaiian Barbecue and Slopes of Vesuvius Mobile Pizzeria.
The festival will also include a stage with live music as well as seminars on the finer points of mixology, cooking, and pairing the two. Proceeds from the event will go to the Canadian Music Therapy Fund.
The Wine & Spirit Festival promotes itself as Toronto’s first outdoor wine and spirit festival, and has used its beachside location to draw in aficionados from Toronto, surrounding areas like Vaughan and Mississauga, and beyond for the past twelve years. Diverse drink events like these, often advertised through flyer printing campaigns, have become a popular attraction.
The Toronto Wine and Spirit Festival was originally set for the weekend of June 12-13, but will now take place on October 2 & 3 at Sugar Beach.
