Resident Artist Series begins at Vaughans City Hall

Art aficionados in Vaughan have the chance to enjoy some locally-created pieces this month, as the City Hall hosts the first exhibition of its new Resident Artist Series.

Throughout the rest of August, visitors to the Atrium Gallery will be able to admire the work of Pietro Adamo.

Adamo uses a variety of platforms to create pieces which reflect his interest in the environment, his extensive travels throughout the world, and his Italian heritage. His works have won him international acclaim, with experts describing them as bold and texturally fascinating.

The show is part of an effort by the city’s Department of Recreation and Culture to showcase the efforts of the highly talented and acclaimed artists in the area. Publicity for the event has been raised with the help of printing companies. Banners and Posters have been dotted around the area to attract attention.

Adamo was born in Toronto and spent 33 years teaching at Chamindale College School, where he was instrumental in setting up its visual arts department. He also mentored several students who went on to become highly accomplished in a variety of artistic fields.

The artist explained that he enjoys all that Vaughan has to offer, and said that living in the area has allowed him to be connected with people from all over the world – something which is reflected in is paintings.

The Atrium Gallery, where the paintings will be on display until September 6, is open throughout the week from 8:30am to 8:00pm.
