New multi-purpose park opens in Vaughan

Members of Vaughn’s council recently joined locals in celebrating the official opening of another one of the city’s parks.

The launch of Spring Blossom Park had something or everyone, as there was entertainment and refreshments for the crowd, while the ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the space as being ready for action.

The site features accessible junior and senior playgrounds with wood carpet surfaces to help provide a soft landing for those who use them. There is also a full basketball court and mini soccer field, where the neighborhood can come together for a friendly game, as well as shaded seating for those who want to sit back and relax.

The area’s green spaces have been designed and planted with sustainability in mind. Plants that are native or drought resistant were chosen for the landscape, to ensure that they can survive the extremes of climate that southern Ontario can bring.

The park is located in Ward 4, at 1 Apple Blossom Drive at the south east corner of Dufferin Street. It is the final complement to the existing eight neighborhood parks that have been installed in the Thornhill Woods block.

The addition of plenty of parks and other green spaces can help to provide the community with areas to engage in outdoor activities and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. A banner printing company can create decorations to be used in celebrating at their grand opening ceremonies.
