New facility opens in central Vaughan

When it comes to childcare, parents in Vaughan will now have an additional option.

On May 13th, the city council announced the official opening of the new YMCA childcare center, which is located at City Hall.

The 5,605 square foot facility will have space for 52 children, with 20 spaces allocated to toddlers, with the remaining 32 for school-age children. It will include staff offices, activity rooms, and a large outdoor area where the kids can play in the fresh air and sunshine.

In 2013, a competitive selection process was held to determine which group would manage the new daycare. The YMCA was chosen, and the organisation signed a five-year contract with the city.

About a quarter of the rental income collected for the space by the city will be allocated to the Building and Facilities General Reserve, and will be used for future site renovation, renewal, and repair.

The childcare program will follow the ‘Playing to Learn’ curriculum, which was first started in 2007 and is currently delivered to more than 13,000 kids throughout the GTA.

It is hoped that these additional spaces will help to make the city even more attractive to potential investors and businesspeople looking to set up shop.

A facility such as this may have a great need for a wide variety of printed materials, all of which can easily be provided by a professional Print company.
