This June will see the CosmoFEST musical event occurring once again in York Region, focused on attracting both listeners and performers from nearby areas such as Vaughan.
The festival features a number of recognizable Canadian bands, including rock veterans 54-40 and Lighthouse, the funky Cosmo Soul Express Band, and tribute act Elton Rohn. The festival also features an instrument and gear expo giving performers a chance to sample guitars, amps, and a variety of other equipment. This side of the festival will feature presentations, performances, and meet-and-greets from the likes of Brazilian guitar master Lari Basilio, PRS Guitars founder Paul Reed Smith, and veteran guitarist David Grissom.
CosmoFEST will also feature performance clinics for musicians to help hone their skills with input from industry experts. All attendees can enjoy a beer garden area with local food trucks, run by Nickel Brook Brewing and including vendors such as Bestia traditional pizza, Grill Gate, and I Love Churros. Festivals such as these present an opportunity for locals to interact with area small businesses, whether they be music suppliers or taco trucks, with Business Cards often changing hands. CosmoFEST will also include a KidsZone, an open mic for York Region performers, and more.
The 2023 edition of CosmoFEST will take place at Cosmo Music in Richmond Hill on Saturday, June 3.
