Lucky night market headed to Vaughan
The traveling Lucky Lion Night Market is headed to Vaughan this May, having expanded to a three-day event.
The market will feature a number of vendors offering over 100 items representing different cuisines. There will also be a merchant area featuring gifts and artisan items. The marketplace is designed to carry on the tradition of Asian-style night markets crowded with sound and scents. Vendors at markets like this often use colourful graphic design and eye-catching booths to help attract attention. The Night Market’s vendors will be selected through an online application process and will be announced in the lead-up to the event. Past events have often included a “glow bar” area with liquid refreshments.
Each night of the market will also feature live, family-friendly entertainment, headlined by traditional Chinese lion dancers and culminating in a grand performance with LED lights. Attractions at previous festival events have included K-Pop performers, martial arts demonstrators, and hip-hop dance teams. In between the performances there will be games and giveaways for audience members to participate in and win prizes. In addition to appearing in Vaughan, the Night Market will also make appearances throughout Ontario in Newmarket, Ottawa, Hamilton and London across the course of the summer.
The 2025 edition of the Lucky Lion Night Market will appear in Vaughan at Assembly Park from May 23 to 25.
