Halloween scream park headed to Vaughan

After a successful run in Toronto, the Screemers Halloween attraction will be coming to Vaughan with the goal of spooking even more visitors this October.

Described as “Canada’s premiere screem park”, the attraction consists of seven walk-through mazes housed under a giant open tent to protect from the elements. In addition to featuring creepy decor and sound, the mazes are staffed by over 120 live actors, meaning that visitors may encounter zombies, ghosts and other Halloween scares on their way through. The haunts each include their own themes, with names like Carnival of Carnage, the holiday-themed Winter Horrorland, and Zombie Prizon. Screemers updates its attractions each year with the hope of appealing to return guests.

There will also be a carnival-style Midway of Madness offering unlimited rides to attendees. For refreshments, the festival area includes food trucks and a Vampire Lounge boasting both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as live stage shows and other entertainment.

Screemers has been in existence for 28 years in Toronto and has previously taken place at the CNE grounds, but it recently made the move to Vaughan. Recommended for ages 10 years and older, Screemers is an example of the more adult-oriented Halloween attractions that have become popular in recent years, which often use horror movie-inspired graphic design for their marketing.

Screemers will be open on select dates between October 6 and 31 at Vaughan’s Assembly Park.
