GTA Kiwanis to mark 100th Anniversary in Vaughan

The Kiwanis Club of Riverdale will be celebrating its century mark this September in Vaughan.

The Club will be marking its anniversary with a gala dinner under the “Century of Service” theme. The event will kick off with a cocktail reception and continue with a four-course meal with complimentary wine, as well as a cash bar available. There will be featured speakers and entertainment including a live band and dancing, with gate prizes and surprises also promised. The ceremony will include highlights of the Club’s 100-year history, including a Commemorative Photo Booth and material highlighting the recipients of the annual scholarships the Kiwanis Club of Riverdale awards to high school students throughout Toronto, Vaughan, and other parts of the Greater Toronto Area.

The Riverdale club was first chartered in 1922, just seven years after the founding of Kiwanis International, with the goal of benefiting children in East Toronto. The group plans to amplify its efforts to provide more scholarships as well as strengthen its community outreach as it begins its second century. Gala dinners such as these can often be major fundraising platforms for charitable organizations, often using special displays and brochure printing to help highlight work the group is doing.

The Kiwanis Club of Riverdale 100th Anniversary Celebration Gala is set to take place on Fontana Gardens in Vaughan on September 18.
