Fundraising event for childrens hospital held in Vaughan

Residents from Vaughan and surrounding communities recently came together in support of the SickKids children’s hospital in Toronto.

The event, named “Skate 4 Marco”

was held at The Sports Village located at 2600 Rutherford Road and ran from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

It was expected that as many as 200 families would join in and take part in the event on the ice. Along with skating, there was hot chocolate, an auction and a raffle draw for prizes. Even though they had to wear helmets to skate, the kids who took part could still have their faces painted and enjoy treats along with their hot drink.
Fundraisers such as these can make use of Flyers to help spread the word about the event to the local community and beyond. It can also Print Posters, Banners, and more.

The fundraiser was held to help raise both funds for the children’s hospital, one of the largest in North America, and also to raise awareness of childhood cancers. Named in honor of Marco Leggier, the foundation was set up and holds a variety of fundraising events throughout the year. Since it was first initiated, the Marco’s Way tribute fund has been able to raise more than $300,000.
