Vaughan’s Fire Rescue Service recently announced that it has taken a further step to help ensure the health and safety of all the city’s residents.
Firefighters have received additional training to help them recognize the Signs of life-threatening illness during an emergency, and also how to provide immediate, life-saving treatments.
One such emergency would be when a child or adult is going into anaphylactic shock due to allergies to insect stings or foods. They have been taught to administer epinephrine, which can halt the allergic attack, through the use of an autoinjector.
They have also received instruction in how to administer aspirin to someone who is suffering chest pain due to cardiac issues, and to assist adults and children with asthma in using their inhaler if they are having trouble breathing due to an attack.
This extra ability to administer these treatments may well end up saving a life in an emergency, as firefighters are often the first responders to arrive on the scene. They will also now have equipment like autoinjectors on hand to use in this sort of situation.
Poster printing companies can create promotional materials help to spread the word about the service’s new abilities. These will let the public know that, should this sort of a crisis arise, the firefighter will be able to help.Get a Free Quote for Signs
