Central Opening Doors conference planned for Vaughan

Organizers of an upcoming event in Vaughan hope it will allow those who take part to gather knowledge and hone their skills when it comes to working with people living with HIV.

The Central Opening Doors conference, which is funded through the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and organized by the AIDS Committee of York Region, will see students, healthcare professionals, those in the social service field and those living with HIV come together to take part in the day long function. Volunteers, caregivers, and anyone else with an interest in the topic is also invited to attend.

This year, the event will be focused on sharing both information and best practices for providing care services to people in marginalized communities, and also how to effectively build inclusive safe and confidential spaces for service delivery. A company that creates Presentation Folders can custom design ones for conferences and other functions such as this.

Tickets for the day can be purchased at a price of $40 each which includes both a full lunch and a continental breakfast. Tickets that include a shared hotel room are also available for $75. Those living with HIV and volunteers with the organization hosting the event will be able to attend free of charge.

Both further information and tickets can be found on the Central Opening Doors’ Eventbrite page.
