Real state of inkjet production printing

Jim Hamilton, Group Director with Info Trends, recently gave a seminar on the real state of inkjet production printing. Firms in Toronto who specialize in such offline printing services as business card, flyer and brochure printing, were interested to find out what he had to say.

Mr. Hamilton spoke at the Konica Minolta Canada centre on May 18th at an event promoted by the Digital Imaging Association. The title of his seminar was Production Inkjet Technologies: a New Digital Print Reality. He began his seminar by giving a market status update which indicated, among other things, that those who buy printing services prefer more personalized products and service. He also mentioned that “on demand” services have become mainstream rather than rare occurrences. He went on to discuss the types of machinery currently used in inkjet printing and developments in inkjet printing as a whole.

Part of Mr. Hamilton’s seminar talked about the seven applications of inkjet printing. Those are:

• General office – items such as Business Cards
• Promotional – items such as Brochures and Flyers
• Publishing – items such as Books and magazines
• Transaction – items such as tickets and bills
Packaging – items such as labels and cartons
• Utility – items such as identity cards
• Consumer – items such as photographs and art

Companies in Toronto who specialize in printing many of the items mentioned above such as Business Cards, should always be open to learning new ways to create a better product for their customers through advances in the technology.
