The exhibition ‘Jean-Michel Basquiat: Now's the Time’ will be showing at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in Toronto from February until May.
This is the first major exhibition for the artist in Canada. It is curated by Dieter Buchhart. The AGO has produced a catalog that will be available for purchase.
New York City artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, who died at the age of 27, made his name in the 1980s; his art was influenced by abstract expressionism and conceptualism, and he covered themes such as racism, class struggle, and politics. The exhibition is set to feature 100 of the artist’s works, all of which are drawn from private collections and public museums in North America and Europe.
Exhibitions that are based on contemporary art – such as this one in Toronto – are often of great interest to those who are employed by graphics or printing companies. It is often a source of inspiration for their future projects.
