Mississauga invited to learn about bats

Ontario is home to several species of bats, and these flying mammals, which play an important role in their ecosystem, will be the stars of the show for a Mississauga presentation.

Professor John Ratcliffe will be sharing his knowledge of these furry Flyers at the Evening Talk: Ontario’s Bats session, and the focus will be on species found in the local area. Ratcliffe has been interested in these creatures for many years, and is looking forward to helping others to learn more about them.

The session will begin with the lecture, and the venue will be accessible to those who require a wheelchair or other mobility device. After the talk, the group will head outdoors to the Riverwood Conservancy’s front lawn so they can hopefully spot some bats in their natural environment. While all ages are welcome, the information shared will be geared towards an older audience.

Learning about nature can be exciting for those who take part, and it can help them to appreciate the species that share their world. Handouts that offer more information to attendees at events like this can be ordered from local Stationery printers.

This opportunity to learn more about bats and why they matter will be held at the Riverwood Conservancy on September 19th. It is free to attend, but donations will be appreciated.
