Mississauga workshop covers spring garden care

Credit Valley Conservation works to ensure Mississauga’s green spaces are protected, and one of its learning opportunities will be focused on yard maintenance for the homeowner.

Spring often sees property owners undertake a variety of tasks to prepare their lawns and gardens for the spring and summer. The Caring for Your Yard session will offer tips and tricks for doing so, and everyone is encouraged to attend and bring a friend, family member or neighbour along too.

The activity is set to take place outside. The facilitator will lead a walk around the arboretum, and while they go, the participants can see landscape maintenance in action. They can observe proper mulching and pruning practices, and discover which tools are the right ones for the job. Basic tree care tips will be shared.

Events like these are often included in the guides and other publications prepared for a community by a brochure printing company.

The Georgetown Arboretum will be helping local gardeners hit the ground running this growing season with its Caring for Your Yard session on Wednesday, June 10th. The workshop will begin at 6:30 pm and finish up at 8:00 pm, and registration via Eventbrite is required. Every effort will be made to contact the registrants via email should the function need to be cancelled due to poor weather.
