Mississauga class to craft traditional Pysanky eggs

Originating in the Ukraine, decorating eggs in the Pysanky style is a tradition that goes back centuries, and those in a Mississauga class will learn how to craft these colourful pieces of Easter decor.

The registrants in the workshop will be taught how to create eggs that have been decorated with layered designs using traditional methods, and instruction will be provided. It may be enjoyed by both beginners and those who already have some experience, and the class is limited to eight people.

The group will be working with dyes prepared using authentic recipes, and they will also use a flame and melted wax. The participants will utilize whole eggs for the project, and they will be taught how to craft a design using layers of dye in different colours. The registration fee is $40, and it is being organized by Kaleidoscope Arts Studio.

Hands-on workshops give members of the public an opportunity to learn new skills, as well as the history behind a particular crafting style. A flyer printing company will be able to aid in letting people know when such workshops are taking place and how they can get involved.

The Pysanky Traditional Easter Egg Painting session is set to begin at 12:00 pm on March 26th. The location will be 323 Queen Street, and it will be facilitated by Jenni Morley.
