Mississauga area walk to visit conservation lands

The conservation lands in the Credit Valley offer the public a way to enjoy time in the wilderness even in an urban setting, and a Mississauga area activity will soon pay a visit to the site.

A guided walk that will explore the neighbourhood surrounding Fletchers Creek will introduce the community to the plants and animals that call the site home, and participants will also discover why the area is so important. The outing will visit several special areas along the way, and a Credit Valley Conservation educator will facilitate the activity.

During the outing, the group will discuss the various species of trees they encounter, and why they are important. The participants will even be able to learn some new identification tricks. Storm water management programs and initiatives that support the urban forest will be reviewed as well, and everyone who takes part will have their name entered into a draw for a gift card.

While a function like this may offer an introduction to a particular site, the participants may want to learn even more after the event has taken place. Publications prepared by a brochure printing company can be used for this.

The Fletchers Creek Neighbourhood Walk will be held on October 16th. It is free to take part, and the group will head out at 10:00 am from the Chris Gibson Community Centre.
