Dr. Hadi Mahabadi, honoured as an outstanding scientist and engineer in graphics communications, is the latest recipient of the prestigious Printing Industries of America's Robert F. Reed Technology Medal. Dr. Mahabadi, who works for the market leader printing services hardware provider Xerox, based in Mississauga, ON, had the award presented to him at the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts Conference in Pittsburgh, which takes place every year. Mahabadi holds the position of VP for the XRCC, Xerox Research Centre, also based in Mississauga, ON.
Since 2004, Mahabadi’s role with Xerox has been centered on research in materials science. He has also been responsible for more than 40 patents for the company. Mahabadi has also helped create substantial achievements in Print technologies for Xerox, such as solid ink and Emulsion Aggregation toner technologies. Mahabadi also lives in Mississauga, ON, after earning his PhD in polymer education from the University of Waterloo, ON.
Xerox’s status as a market leader in graphics communications is the doubtless result of many of Mahabadi’s contributions, for which he has been honored as Print Magazine's Most Influential Canadian in Graphic Communications. He has also been honoured as one of Canadian Immigrant Magazine's Top 25 Canadian Immigrants of 2010.
