Scholarships available to flexography students

Promising students pursuing programs in the printing services industry now have a new option for their post-secondary funding- The Canadian Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund (CPISTF).

The Fund has generously received an additional $17,500 from the Canadian Flexographic Training Committee. The CPISTF is responsible for disbursing funds to needy students who have chosen a career path in the printing industry.

The Canadian Flexographic Training Committee is based in Toronto and is dedicated to supporting vocational education at all levels of study to the flexographic printing industry in Toronto, Mississauga, and the rest of the GTA. Flexo printing is a special printing process which utilizes a flexible relief plate and can be used to Print on plastic, metallic films, paper, and cellophane, as well as food Packaging. A large number of printing companies in Mississauga and Toronto offer flexography printing services.

The generous donation to the Scholarship Trust Fund will offer students studying print – particularly those with an interest and course of study in flexography – a chance to attract highly qualified people to the field, while supporting their funding financially in an approved program. The most recent recipients of the CPISTF’s print scholarship funding were promising students at the Ryerson University’s Graphic Communications Management Program.

The new scholarship program helps ensure future employment for students pursuing a program in this field and also helps ensure that printing companies have access to young talent to fill future vacancies.

The CPISTF was established in 1971 and receives contributions from a variety of donors to exclusively benefit the printing industry in Canada.
