Print Scholarships for Students Involved in the Industry

An organization is only as good as its talents and it’s well known that talent is the result of personal aptitude and education. For this reason the Canada Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund has decided to give out more than $83,750 to 61 students in Print related programs this academic year. $50,000 of that amount will be exclusively awarded to first year students with the remainder awarded to continuing students in subsequent years of study.

While the scholarships themselves are designed to disperse funds fairly evenly to recipients through amounts of $1,250, exceptional talents are eligible to receive the Warren Wilkins Prestige Scholarship valued at $5,000. To be eligible for either scholarship, a student must show dedication to pursuing a career in print as well as enrollment in a full time two, three or four year program.

Two of this year’s notable recipients are students from Mississauga, ON, and Hanover, ON. Both students will be pursuing their studies through the School of Graphic Communications at Ryerson University.

The scholarship fund began in 1971 to encourage and support dedicated print students, the future of the industry in Canada. Since then the Canada Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund has received generous donations from prominent firms and individuals devoted to promoting professional and academic studies of the print and graphics communication industries.

Scholarship recipients often go on to become successful entrepreneurs in their field and profession of choice and bring leadership, vision, dedication and brilliance to the print companies who hire them.

Print companies can also help support students in the industry by making a contribution to the Canada Printing Industries Scholarship.
