A special outing that will be filled with spine-tingling stories will be walking through one of Mississauga's historic public cemeteries, and it will provide a glimpse into the community's past.
The 23rd annual Haunted Mississauga Heritage Tour will make history come to life at Streetsville Public Cemetery, and it is being presented by Heritage Mississauga. This year's activity will be focused on 1937, and the tours will depart every 20 minutes.
The attendees will be led on a guided 45-minute walk, and they will meet costumed characters along the way. The participants will learn the story of Hayden Pope and the mystery of the “Streetsville Ghouls”. While the subject matter may be ghostly, it will be a family-friendly walk. Attendees may want to bring flashlight with them, as they should note that the ground will be uneven, and the venue will be poorly lit. Spaces are expected to fill up fast, and only a limited number of tickets will be sold. These are available via Eventbrite.
Historical walking tours are popular in many communities, attracting locals and visitors alike. Printed programs that provide further details to complement a tour can be ordered from area Stationery printers.
This chance to learn about Mississauga’s creepy past is scheduled for October 25tht. The first tour will depart at 7:00 pm from 1786 Bristol Road West.
