Mississauga to host food drive

An upcoming event will give Mississauga residents a way to offer their neighbours in need a helping hand this holiday season.

The Mississauga Food Bank works hard throughout the year to make sure everyone has food on their table, and it is seeking support from the public. It has planned a food drive, and to help make sure everyone can participate safely, it will be hosting a contactless event.

The event, which is part of the organization’s “12 Days of Giving” campaign, will see the public play “Secret Santa” to individuals and families who are finding it hard to make ends meet. Volunteers will be on site to direct traffic and collect donations, and they have asked that these be placed in the trunk of the vehicle so they can be accessed safely. Once they are unloaded, donors will be given directions for how to exit the lot, and they will be able to leave with a smile on their face and the great feeling of knowing they have helped others.

The food bank explained that it is hoping this event will go a long way towards reaching its goal of collecting at least 300,000 pounds of food. Signage can help to keep this sort of activity running smoothly, and it can be prepared by an area banner printing company.

The Holiday Drive-Thru Food Drive will be collecting donations on December 19th. They can be dropped off at 3121 Universal Drive.
