Mississauga to celebrate its culture this summer

The city of Mississauga will be hosting two separate cultural festivals next month at Celebration Square.

The first one is the 10th annual Mosaicfest, a South Asian Heritage Festival that takes place over 10 days and features three separate festivals. It will start off with a film festival at the Cineplex and the Living Arts Centre, for which passes are $40 until August 1 and $50 after.

It also consists of the two-day free Rock the Coliseum music festival, which will be held from August 14 to 15 and will feature performances from groups like The Imports and Tomahawk Love, as well as the cultural festival.

The main festival will have cultural displays, arts and crafts for sale, and international foods for purchase, and will run from August 6 to 9. To learn more about the festival, contact Arshad Mahmood at 416-388-9596.

Later on in the month, on August 22 from 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Italfest will also take place at Celebration Square. It is set to feature food, music, cultural displays, live performances, games, and vendors. Admission is free and organizers are looking for volunteers to help.
