Mississauga Seed Library plans garden workshop

The Mississauga Seed Library will soon be celebrating 10 years of helping members of the public become more sustainable, and everyone aged 13 and up is encouraged to drop by and join the fun.

The Small Arms Inspection Building hosts a variety of events, and in late February, it will serve as the location for a container gardening class organized by Mississauga Library. It will be hands on, and advance registration is mandatory.

The activity will teach those who take part how easy it can be to grow herbs and even some small vegetables and other kitchen ingredients in a pot or other container. They will learn how to get their seeds started and care for the plants as they grow, and the techniques taught can be used for small space gardening in almost any location, even if it is just a dish on a sunny windowsill.

To help the attendees put their new knowledge to use, they will each go home with a gardening kit to take home. These will include both soil and seeds. Stationery printers can prepare Packaging supplies and other materials for a special event like this.

This opportunity to learn how to grow herbs and veggies at home will be on offer on Saturday, February 24th. The session will get started at 12:30 pm.
