As the horticultural calendar shifts from summer to fall, a Mississauga online workshop will help local green thumbs protect their gardens.
One of the keys to successful gardening can be giving it proper care during the autumn months, and Credit Valley Conservation’s Sara Maedel will be sharing her expertise during a virtual learning season. The tips provided will be environmentally friendly, and the event is being presented by Port Credit Library.
During the workshop, Maedel will discuss how mulch may be used to protect tender plants, and fall pruning will be reviewed as well. The importance of creating food and habitats for birds and other garden visitors will be on the agenda, and perennial division and edging techniques will round out the virtual presentation. The hope is that those who make use of the advice will find that their own plantings do well after they incorporate what they have learned.
Although a function like this may be offered using an online format, the participants may still appreciate being given hard-copy versions of any learning materials used. These may be sourced from Print shops.
The Preparing Your Yard and Garden for Winter virtual seminar has been scheduled for the evening of October 21st. It will start at 7:00 pm, and joining instructions will be distributed to the attendees once they have registered.
