Mississauga event to welcome indie writers

Authors from across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) may find that an upcoming event in Mississauga will be just what they have been looking for, as it may help them to break into the indie literature market.

Independent authors are the target audience for the annual “& Festival”, which will be on offer at Mississauga’s Sheridan College. It will take place over two days in early October.

The festival will include workshops and panels from guest speakers covering an assortment of topics that may be of interest to writers, such as the Building a Career as a Writer workshop and Navigating Vulnerabilities in Life Writing panel discussion. The keynote address will be delivered by Canisia Lubrin. Panel discussions, an & Books Literary Market and other activities are all in the works. A soiree-style mixer will bring the attendees together to celebrate, and the fest will wrap up with closing reception.

A poster printing company can prepare marketing materials for an event like this one.

The & Festival will be celebrating GTA’s independent literary talent on October 4th and 5th. Tickets can be purchased by visiting its Eventbrite listing. Sheridan College students may enter both days free of charge. Students of other colleges can attend the Friday programming for free with valid ID, but will be required to purchase a ticket for Saturday. Non-student attendees must purchase tickets for both days. Early bird pricing will be available until August 28th.
