Many older adults want to enjoy their golden years living in their own home and a Mississauga workshop can help to make this an attainable goal.
According to statistics, as many as 92% of seniors will remain living in a private household, and many of them take several medications or are at an increased risk of falling. The session will investigate steps people can take to ensure that they are safe at home, and both older adults and other members of the household are welcome.
The stated goal of the class is “empowerment through learning”, and this has guided the topics that will be on the agenda. Medication safety, home modifications and how to obtain financial assistance to complete them, community supports, and home care services will all be discussed, as will important questions to ask when investigating options for senior living. The tips shared will be simple and actionable, and the presenters will be subject experts.
While there is no cost being charged to participate, pre-registration is required and those who sign up are asked to bring along their printed tickets. A printing services provider will be able to prepare Presentation Folders that can make it easy to distribute printed materials during an event like this.
St. Andrews’s Memorial Presbyterian Church will be the location of this workshop that will help local seniors maintain their independence. It is taking place on March 16th.
