Celebration Square to host Mississauga holiday party

It’s time once again for residents of Mississauga to join together to celebrate the winter holiday season. To help get the occasion of to a festive start, the community will be hosting a kick-off party in Celebration Square, and both skating and a special ceremony on are the agenda.

The Let It Glow event, which will mark the start of the local holiday season, will also celebrate the opening of the square’s outdoor rink. Mayor Bonnie Crombie and the city council will be on hand to throw the switch for the official tree lighting, and a program of entertainment will be on offer as well.

A big community gathering like this often calls for an even bigger sound, and in keeping with this, the entertainment for the evening will be supplied by The Big Sound, which is a orchestra that boasts over 25 musical artists. There will be two performances, and this will be accompanied by an interactive light show and other illuminated activities.

The kids who attend the function will be invited to explore the cold weather magic that will be on offer in Little Borealis, which will include a pop-up planetarium, selfie station, and Santa’s Cabin.
