Sustainability group invites Miltonians to Future House
After a successful first edition, Sustainable Milton will be bringing back its Future House event, showcasing environmentally conscious living.
The event takes the form of a traditional home show but with an emphasis on products like solar panels, e-bikes, and other businesses and services that aim to make people’s homes and lifestyles more environmentally sustainable. The show will also feature a day full of presentations on topics like sustainable home renovations, garden design for rainwater management, and heat pumps. The presenters will include experts from area institutions and businesses such as Bluewater Energy and Jade Environmental Services, showcasing how sustainable practices can help to lower household energy costs.
There will also be e-vehicles from local car dealerships on display and a hands-on workshop dealing with tree and shrub printing. All adult attendees of the show will receive a ticket for Door Prize draws, with extra tickets available for those who register ahead of time. Prizes include an Ecobee Smart Thermostat and a Sparkling Green gift certificate. Home and garden shows often use prize draws and promotional products to help get people in the door. Future House will also include a child-friendly area with story time and crafts focused on environmental themes.
Future House 2025 will take place at the Milton Sports Centre on the morning and afternoon of March 29.
