The 25th annual Eden Mills Writers' Festival is taking place over three days in September, with more than 1,500 visitors expected to attend.
The event will feature many well-known authors from Canada and around the world. Among the writer's expected to appear this year are Linwood Barclay, Elizabeth Ruth, Marie-Claire Blais, and Leon Rooke. Alix Olin, Philip Roy, and Sheree Fitch will also be attending.
There will be author readings, workshops, musical performances, and autograph opportunities for visitors. Children at the event will be able to enjoy Jenny’s Place, a designated activity area, and there will be food and Books for sale from various vendors. Publisher's Way will feature more than 50 exhibitors, including publishers, literary magazines, trade associations, and authors.
The event will be launched with the Black Tie and Tales gala, which will feature appearances from Arthur Black and James Gordon. Guests will have access to a cash bar.
The festival will be taking place in several surrounding communities, and will include a performance from Joel Plaskett Emergency. Local Print companies will be likely contributing items such as Flyers to help advertise the various events.
The Eden Mills Writers' Festival will be held across a number of venues throughout the Eden Mills area from September 13-15. Prices for the various activities vary.
The Black Tie and Tales gala will kick things off at the Eden Mills Community Hall on September 13 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 on the door. Publisher's Way will take place on September 15. For more information about the festival, visit the official website.
