Students in Guelph and the Greater Toronto area get to put away their textbooks for a week and participated in some of the family friendly activities the entire community is having for March Break. For parents, it means finding a week’s worth of entertaining activities to fill to pass the week. Thankfully printers are making local activities much easier to find through advertising at local centres.
With temperatures expected to be in the teens, local events for the week are being advertised in brochure printing and poster printing throughout the entire city.
Here are some of the family friendly programs open to children and teens at home during March Break.
The Guelph public library offers a variety of programs for students staying home. The main branch is running a series of free activities during the week, which have been heavily advertised in all branches. The library will be holding events like an X Box console tournament for grades seven and up and a free juggling show for students.
Camps around the Guelph area are also open to students. The River Run Centre’s Arts Explosion Program and Funamazing Play Centre are open and busy during March Break. Grandparents can get into the mix too and bring their grandchildren for a dollar off admission price during March Break week.
The West End community centre also offers lots of recreational activities for March Breakers. Take a cool dip in the swimming pool open from 3 to 4 pm daily.
