In order to be truly successful in the business world, you need to be able to do business in as many areas as possible. It is just not enough to have a local business which only caters to local customers. While it is important for your customers to know the company they are doing business with personally, that is changing. Since a lot of today’s business is done over the Internet from all over the world, it is important that business owners understand all that is involved in doing business in other countries.
The Guelph-Wellington Business Enterprise Centre and the Guelph Chamber of Commerce are presenting three seminars on how to deal with importing and exporting at the Holiday Inn on Scottsdale in Guelph on November 30. These three seminars can teach those all sorts of companies, even printing companies, exactly what they need to know:
• First Steps to Exporting
This seminar will teach you all you need to know about market research, business plans, business readiness and issues that may come up. Admission is $45.
• Online Importing
This seminar will discuss accountability, the necessary documents you need, how to handle exchanges, returns and payment and the limitations you might face. Admission is $45.
• New Importers
This seminar will explain the process of importing, what duties you may have to pay, trade programs that can help and the government contacts you should use.
The Guelph-Wellington Business Enterprise Centre offers many types of services to the business community; these seminars are just a small service they offer.
